Loyalhanna Township, PA. -- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit continue their investigation of the homicide of Steven Andrew Kachonik.
On November 12, 2005, at 9:00 p.m., family members contacted the State Police to report that Steven Kachonik had gone hunting on this date, but never returned home.
On November 13, 2005, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Steven was found deceased underneath his portable tree stand in a wooded area, approximately 1/8 mile west of SR981 and approximately ½ mile south of Robinson Road, Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County.
It was determined that Steven Kachonik had been shot with a gun.
