Derry, PA -- A Derry Borough woman is facing charges for stalking and harassment after county detectives were contacted by the family of a rising country music duo.
The family first notified their local authorities in Tennessee before realizing the alleged user’s account derived from Westmoreland County.
Police claim Ashley Felix, of Derry, created as many as 58 Instagram accounts to further stalk the social media accounts of the country duo, Megan and Liz.
The victims told detectives that Felix threatened physical harm, attempted to sabotage business partnerships and endorsements and encouraged one victim to commit suicide and kill her unborn child.
Investigators said messages, allegedly from Felix, grew more violent.
County Detectives and Derry Police interviewed Felix who initially denied having contact with the country musicians and denied having her cell phone on her to prove it.
Detectives said while interviewing her, her cell phone rang, and she recovered it from underneath her clothing.
Felix allegedly admitted to her involvement and claimed one of the victims made a negative remark to one of her friends on TikTok and it triggered her to send messages to the duo over the past year.
The victims told police Felix’s stalking and harassment over the past year has caused them both extreme emotional distress.
