Arnold, PA -- Westmoreland County Detective Bureau filed charges against an Arnold woman after a child in her care tested positive for drugs.
Ariana Carter, 33, was charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia after a ChildLine referral was turned over to the detective bureau.
County Detectives were asked to assist Arnold Police and Westmoreland County Children's Bureau in May after learning the victim, an infant, tested positive for methamphetamine and THC in April.
Carter also allegedly tested positive for THC as a result of the drug testing.
Investigators made multiple attempts to question the defendant, Carter, at her house and at an unrelated court proceeding, but were unable to do so.
In May, the victim was tested again at UPMC Children's Hospital and tested positive for methamphetamine, THC, and Benadryl.
County Detectives executed a search warrant at Carter's residence and seized syringes, two meth smoking pipes, two marijuana smoking pipes, and other paraphernalia related to smoking marijuana.
The child is no longer in the care of Carter.
