Greensburg, PA -- Westmoreland County Detectives filed charges of perjury against a former Westmoreland County couple accused of lying under oath in regard to a property sale.
Michael Pierce and Carrie Pierce, of Cranberry Township, are accused of lying during a deposition at an attorney's office in Greensburg in June of 2025.
The Pierces were questioned about the sale of their residence and not disclosing structural deficiencies caused by water infiltration.
Detectives said despite being questioned and shown proof of companies hired to fix the problem followed by insurance claims, the Pierces denied having any knowledge of any water damage or ongoing issues.
The property in question was sold in 2020 for $775,000 and investigators contend that the Pierces knew about the underlying issues and failed to disclose it to the prospective buyers.
The Pierces' alleged false statements under oath led to county detectives filing perjury charges against the couple.
The Pierces were released on their own recognizance after being arraigned on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
