Greensburg, PA -- Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces a guilty plea in a homicide by vehicle case that claimed the life of an Indiana County woman.
Ashley Kelley, 33, pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle in front of Common Pleas Judge Michael Stewart on September 30, 2025.
Kelly was initially charged with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, reckless driving, and recklessly endangering another person.
Regina Endress died after Kelley's van allegedly crossed the center line of Route 217 and collided with Endress' vehicle head on in February of 2024.
Kelley told troopers, by the time she realized she was in the oncoming lane, she was unable to avoid the collision.
Kelley was sentenced to serve one year less a day to two years less a day in jail.
It was determined through the course of the investigation, drug recognition experts did not believe there was enough marijuana in Kelley's system to impair her ability to operate a motor vehicle at the time of the crash, resulting in the Commonwealth dismissing the homicide by vehicle while DUI offense.
