Greensburg, PA. -- Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announces a Mount Pleasant Township man was found guilty of official oppression.
James Shaw, 56, was convicted by a judge in a non-jury trial on December 20, 2022.
Shaw was a former police officer with Southwest Greensburg Police.
He was charged in 2021 after he tried to pull a woman over, while off-duty and out of his jurisdiction.
The woman told police Shaw flashed a badge at her, and had red and blue flashing lights in his personal sports car while she was driving in East Huntingdon Township.
Shaw’s case was investigated by Pennsylvania State Police and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Katie Ranker.
