Monessen, PA -- Monessen Police, in cooperation with the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, filed criminal charges against a Monessen couple accused of severely abusing several dogs after the abuse was captured on a neighbor's surveillance camera.
Douglas White, 27, is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, cruelty to animals, neglect of animals, and drug possession. Mackinzie Orndoff, 26, is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, neglect of vet care, and drug possession after police executed a search warrant at the couple's Knox Avenue residence over the weekend.
On June 27, 2025, a neighbor contacted police and turned over more than 50 videos to Monessen Police that showed White abusing their dogs over multiple occasions dating back to December of 2024.
The abuse ranged from kicking, choking, throwing, aggressively grabbing the dog by the back of its neck, and smashing the dogs' face off the ground.
Videos viewed by investigators allegedly showed one dog being thrown against the steps, and yelped as he smacked off the railing.
Another video from June 25 observed by officers showed White throwing a dog down the stairs that was not moving and appeared to be lifeless. The dog was then seen limping and lays down before White is seen dragging the dog through the yard and up the stairs to the porch.
A search warrant was executed on the Knox Avenue residence where three dogs were seized and taken to a local animal rescue for evaluation and treatment.
Police also recovered two deceased dogs buried in the yard. The bodies of the two dogs were exhumed and will be forensically examined.
A subsequent second search warrant executed on the residence resulted in officers seizing marijuana, and related paraphernalia from the home.
White and Orndoff were taken into custody and arraigned on the charges. Both posted $500,000 bail upon being arraigned.
