North Huntingdon Township, PA -- The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau's Forensic Services Division was invited to speak to high school students today about evidence collection and crime scene investigation.
Forensic Detectives Swartz, Grabiak, Gizler, and Crawford gave the Norwin High School students a glimpse into forensic investigations and its role in processing scenes, prosecution, and presenting a case.
The Biology and Biomedical Science department at Norwin is teaching students about surveying crime scenes, collecting and documenting evidence, and analyzing DNA and digital evidence.
The students will also be learning about blood splatter analysis, blood typing, and DNA evidence and how it correlates to processing the crime scene and presenting a criminal case.
The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau's Forensic Services Division is among the best in the field and look forward to educating the forensic detectives of tomorrow.
