Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli announces the distribution of $13,212.00 to the Municipality of Murrysville to fund a License Plate Reader (LPR) for the Murrysville Police Department at last evening’s council meeting.  This disbursement is being issued in furtherance of the provisions of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device & Cosmetic Act with funds seized and forfeited to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Investigative Fund.  

“I made a commitment to the people of Westmoreland County to protect our communities and support the police.  The disbursement of these funds to purchase a License Plate Reader will help combat the flow of drugs traveling through Westmoreland County, assist local law enforcement, and protect our residents.  It is my honor to help effectuate the purchase of this LPR to prevent crime.  Thank you to Chief Tom Seefeld for bringing this request for funding to my attention.” – Nicole W.
