Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli will make a distribution of $9,300.00 to Allegheny Township for the funding of standardized department-issued firearms for the Allegheny Township Police Department at this evening’s Board of Supervisors meeting. This disbursement is being issued in furtherance of the provisions of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device & Cosmetic Act with funds seized and forfeited to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Investigative Fund No. 2.
“I made a commitment to the people of Westmoreland County to protect our communities and support the police. The disbursement of these funds to purchase standardized department-issued firearms will protect local officers. They need and deserve firearm uniformity as they protect and serve the community in Allegheny Township. It is my honor to help effectuate the purchase of these firearms to prevent crime. Thank you to Chief Duane Fisher and Allegheny Township Supervisor James Morbito for bringing this request for funding to my attention.” – Nicole Ziccarelli
